It is an artisanal ham, which is different from all others hams of Italy.
It is produced in Crana, a hamlet of Santa Maria Maggiore in Vigezzo Valley located almost at 800 mt a.s.l., from fresh pork legs. It is processed and wrapped with aromas, before being smoked with juniper berries and carefully aged at open air for 15 or 18 months.
